Carpet Beetles

Carpet Beetles perform an important role in nature by feeding as larvae on decaying animals whereby hair, fur, feathers, hide and wool are consumed. These Beetles lay their eggs so the larvae can feed on dry animal material of high protein content such as dry carcasses, insect remains and the remains of birds’ and mammals’ nests.  Adults are commonly found on flowers. It is the Larvae that cause most damage to carpets, blankets and other woollen fabrics in the home. Carpet Beetles are covered under both our Pest Packages.
